This June we took clients out to Vaujany in Rhone-Alps. Our latest partnership with Ski Peak served up a real feast of a cycling holiday!
Ski Peak help to deliver a superb cycling break with their amazingly decked out chalet, incredible alps views and the piece de resistance is the food at the end of the day. Cooked by Marcus the Kiwi Chef, with all fresh ingredients, his 5-7 course meals were to die for.
After breakfast each day, we headed out to tackle some of the Alps’ best climbs. We conquered St Christophe-en-oisans, Les Deux Alps, Col de Glandon, Col de Croix de Fer, Col du Telegraphe, Galibier, Col de Ornon and who could forget the mighty Alpe D’Huez?!
With so much cycling on Chalet Saskias doorstep, you almost forget about the rafting, via ferrata, mountain biking and hiking that is also available if you fancy a day off!
An example of one of the menus one evening was:
Drinks: Fizzy Berry Wine
Soup Starter: Asian Style Corn & Coconut with Prawns and Sesame
Entre: Pan friend Scallops, celeriac pure, pancetta, champagne apples and hazelnut emulsion
Main: Duck Breast with beetroot, fois gras and kumkwats
Sorbet: Red Pepper and Raspberry
Cheese: Rose Poached Pears with st agor celery sauce and caramelised walnuts
Desert: Roasted Peaches, Milk, chocolate parfait with lavender biscuits and peach pepper sorbet
